RSG’s 20th Partners Conference, held February 24-26 in Point Clear, AL, featured a full agenda of meetings, classes, and networking. Twenty-four companies were represented at this year’s conference. “Portal to the Future”
The 2009 Partners Conference not only marked the completion of our migration to Oracle®, it also represented our new technology foundation that serves as a portal to the future of RSG’s risk management information system (RMIS). Oracle® was and is a significant investment for RSG, leveraging this state-of-the-art platform to improve and expand our RMIS software and processes. Under the covers, we improved our data conversion and validation routines; developed flexible tools to assist account managers in molding Sigma EncoreSM around specific needs; and designed a robust data model to address risk data from an enterprise perspective. We provided sessions at the conference that further explained these enhancements.
Since your migration, you personally have seen the report flexibility we built into the Oracle® version of Sigma EncoreSM Reporting; the use of our Dashboard to graphically display key performance indicators that are updated automatically; and the analytical power of our business intelligence tool, Oracle® Discoverer, which graphically displays your reports and allows you to drill down from summary data into the detail. The conference provided a variety of classes on how to best leverage the claim management and reporting flexibility of Sigma EncoreSM.
In a change from previous years, the 2009 conference focused entirely on education sessions, eliminating the speaker track we have offered before. We also adjusted the length of the classes in order to provide a greater selection of sessions to attend. We feel confident that attendees left Point Clear with knowledge that made their jobs easier and more accommodating.
RSG’s portal to the future is to capture and report on more data, interface and exchange data with an expanded array of different technologies, and move forward with a user interface that leverages the Web. Our 2009 Partners Conference gave attendees the opportunity to learn, to network with their peers, and to envision how they want to use RSG in their future risk management operation.
Grand Hotel Point Clear Resort & Spa
RSG chose the Grand Hotel Point Clear Resort & Spa for our 2009 Partners Conference because we wanted attendees to experience this stunning Alabama beach. The Grand boasts two challenging golf courses as well as a 20,000-square-foot European-style spa, an array of dining options and a marina that is home to sailboats, yachts and fishing boats. The beaches and pool complex offer relaxation and entertainment. Overlooking scenic Mobile Bay and complemented by the hotel’s flowering landscape, the Grand’s convention space is elegant and has incorporated state-of-the-art technology and conveniences for business travelers.
RSG is a service leader, and we found that the Southern hospitality at the Grand exceeded our expectations. History Channel buffs will be impressed with the Grand’s history: First developed in 1847 as a gathering place for antebellum Southern society, the Point Clear Hotel burned to the ground during the Civil War, and then was used as a training station during World War II. Rebuilt and renamed, today’s hotel preserves much of the original heartpine wood in its main lobby.
