Sarbanes-Oxley: Risk Manager’s Perspective |
| Description: |
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) continues to challenge and befuddle risk/compliance management organizations as well as IT shops. The scope of SOX has initially been interpreted more broadly than intended by the SEC as a result of a lack of clarity on the role of IT in meeting the regulation. Risk management has come to a greater focus and understanding of the specific requirements of SOX and consider ways in which SOX compliance can be combined with similar governance policies and compliance obligations.
This session will describe how one Fortune 250 Company, and an RSG customer, embraced SOX regulations by enhancing the checks and balances already in play. Data is balanced between all business partners, through controls and procedures, before financial reporting begins. Discussion will include the support of business partners on how to automate as many controls as possible. |

Enterprise Risk: Integration of Data |
| Description: |
Systems are an integral component of an enterprise risk management (ERM) program with RSG’s Sigma EncoreSM a major building block. Components of an ERM system that are already standard through an RSG solution are:
- SAS 70 Type II audit on critical controls and data integrity
- Frequent electronic interchange of data from multiple sources
- Audit trail of risk events and related financial transactions
- Integration of client-defined exposure metrics
- Triggers and alerts that notify executive management of risk abnormalities
- Business intelligence tools that support in-depth analytics
Renewal submissions, actuarial evaluations, audit requests, and all major risk analyses from an enterprise level are made simpler when the data is pooled together. RSG risk management professionals will further delve into how consolidating all risk management data into RSG Sigma EncoreSM will eventually save you time and money.

Panel Discussion: Cost Containment (Safety) |
| Description: |
Corporations are doing a pretty good job of containing frequency and severity of occupational accidents based on NCCI published data illustrating downward trends over the last few years. This is partly attributed to safety’s early intervention and prevention initiatives that have reduced or eliminated frequency and subsequent costs. How has our client community used Sigma EncoreSM to track cost containment projects and their effectiveness?
A panel of RSG clients will share their cost containment experiences. Safety and loss prevention measures will be covered, including how risk management and field operations pooled valuable information prior to implementation. The panel will share how they quantified and qualified results, and will field questions from the audience. |

Self-Administer Claims with Sigma EncoreSM |
| Description: |
Self-insured programs are increasing their appetite to handle incidents, occurrences and claims internally. Reasons that drive self-handling range from cost of third party claim handling to sensitivity of liability claims.
Targeted to either risk management operations already self-handling claims or clients considering self-administration, this session will describe how Sigma EncoreSM can address Incidents, Occurrences, Claims, Diary, Notes, Reserving, Check-writing, etc. The focus will be how Sigma EncoreSM supports internal claim handling and minimizing the administrative burden. Discussion will include special processes to consider; the dynamics and safeguards you need to take with check writing, and how to address the handling of international claims. Finally, this session will include how Sigma EncoreSM supports a paperless environment. |

Panel Discussion: Case Management/ Return-to-Work |
| Description: |
Employers question per claim cost savings, typically referred to as “soft” savings, associated with medical case management services. While a few companies have developed true methodologies for calculating savings, input of data into those calculations can still be very subjective, resulting in wide variances and rendering output data statistically insignificant. We have learned from our clients that effective case management and RTW programs offer tangible and measurable results.
This session will bring together case management professionals who will facilitate a discussion on the major drivers of workers’ compensation costs. Learn how companies are mitigating medical costs through case management, and how return-to-work and alternative duty methods have become embraced throughout their organizations. |

Methods for Cost of Risk Allocation |
| Description: |
RSG has developed and supports a broad range of cost of risk allocation models that are as simple as charging back to field operations dollar one of all indemnity and expense paid, to sophisticated allocation programs that incorporate the total cost of risk, limiting losses, applying exposure variances by location, and incorporating a host of other factors. Allocation reporting configured to the specific requirements of risk management is one of the most frequently requested projects that RSG delivers.
You will take away from this session how you can track demonstrative risk information through a variety of popular allocation methods. Learn how results can be so varied and how your company can benefit from tweaking your current process. |
