The Sigma Encore RMIS is constructed according to a service-layer architecture plan. There is a thin Visual Basic user interface layer that interacts with middle-tier application services for business and database logic. The user interface of Sigma Encore is controlled by application metadata customizable for unique client needs. The Java-based application services layer, residing on an Oracle application server, controls the standard and custom data validation and actual interaction with the Oracle database.
